The Journey to Acupuncture….
Over 35 years ago, she recovered completely from chronic asthma, allergies, and a severe lower back injury, as a result of Acupuncture and taking herbal formulas. She discovered first-hand how Eastern Medicine integrated the mind, body and spirit to relieve the ailments she was experiencing.
She made it her life’s mission to return to school, study an additional 5 years to be educated on the principals and philosophy of this amazing and ancient treasure trove of a system we call Traditional Chinese Medicine, with the intent to improve and potentiate the quality of life for others. We can integrate this ancient medicine to effectively to treat modern imbalances, improve vitality, longevity, immunity, and transform quality of life!
Serving as an instructor for five years at the Traditional Chinese Medical College of Hawai‘i, teaching Clinical Acupuncture and Moxibustion, Traditional Diagnosis & Pathology and Chinese Pharmacology I & II, was another chapter along her path to discover the very depth and wonder of this magical and rooted medicine.
Denice’s artistic canvas is a bountiful palette from the rich and vibrant colors of healing modalities, herbal formulas and in-depth experience to her beautiful and bold passion for gardening, interior design and joyful interaction with the ocean. Treatment Expectations….
Included with the Traditional Acupuncture treatment, of which we consider painlessly inserting needles inacupoints along meridians of the body to balance energy, there’s likely to be included other traditional methods such as moxibustion (applied heat), gentle Electrical stimulation, Fire Cupping, Gua sha, Tui na(body work), Chi Nei Tsang (internal organ chi massage), and Tuning Fork vibrational Therapy. In addition, Low Level Laser Therapy is used upon request.
Most importantly it should be stated, Chinese Medicine is a way of thinking. (Zhang Xichun 1860 – 1933)….it’s how we live, practice meditation or qi gong, intake our nutrition, and relate with the world around us. We can regard Acupuncture as an important pillar for holistic health care and vitality, a major contributor and support of body homeostasis, at the very least to ensure and potentiate wellness and quality of life.
